Iron Rain

some 690 light-years away, lives a planet called WASP-76b which is so hot it vaporises iron and when that cools it rains down on the planet surface. See ya’ll there!

In case it wasn’t obvious, i’m quite interested in the Cosmos.  Its kind of a recent but very strong obsession.  Its amazing what science can show us and how far we’re able to see now in a very short space of time

Back to the music, this one ventured in the synthwave direction, made popular by acts such as Perturbator and Carpenter Brut who are both a big inspiration to me.  I’m certainly not writing music like then per se but they’ve managed to rise to the top of their own genre and maintain a strong artistic vision, not only with their music but also all visual elements of their art and they relate to electronic and metal fans and many in-between.

This track was actually built around the 2 guitar riffs, ideas that i had kicking around and wanted to work on.  Despite one being quite heavy and riffy and the other being more minimal I felt they kinda worked together even with a fairly brutal transition.  The other elements of the track were retro-fitted around these main part

I wanted the intro to be EPIC.  There was definitely some Perturbator influence there.  I’ve watched this live video of his performance of Future Club many times

The final section, after the ambient, kinda trip-hop part is the newest part of the song.  I tried out a few different ideas for this and ended up writing a new guitar part with some pretty aggressive drums.  I really wanted to drive home the end with something that really cranked it up and made my head move.  I hope i managed that for you too!
