Singularity (Featuring Frederyk Rotter)
Released 31/01/2020
Singularity marks the beginning of the cosmic and musical journey from the latest in experimental electronic artists, NyF. Drawing deep from industrial underground sounds and textures, the track delivers with aggressive synth layers, hard-hitting bass, elements of dubstep with guitar layers and vocals courtesy of Freddyrk Rotter from Psych Doom band Zatokrev.
The track and indeed the music project originated in producer Simon Jameson’s former studio near Basel in Switzerland. These initial songs developed over many years but the guitar and vocals ideas where tracked sometime in 2018. Due to the closure of the studio and various relocations, the song wasn’t finished until late 2019 when a clear vision was established for the overall aesthetic and emotion for the music.
While being largely an electronic-based track, some “real” instruments were woven in to try and capture that elusive meld of electronic and “metal”. Aimed more towards fans of Nine Inch Nails and Ministry than specific electronic genres despite classifying (reluctantly) the overall genre as Industrial Dark Synth. This feels sufficiently vague enough to allow for experimentation and exploration.
